Boilermaker’s Start Off With A Good Standing In Preseason

The 1997-1998 Boiler Basketball season, where they were ranked number 9, was the last time they were ranked in Preseason rankings. The Boilermakers have not been ranked in the top 25 since that year. Eleven seasons after, Purdue is ranked 10th in the preseason ESPN/USA Today Poll. All the teams are voted on by a poll of 31 coaches from around the nation.

Purdue is one of the three Big Ten Conference teams that received a preseason ranking in the top 25. The other two teams from the Big Ten are Michigan State, which was ranked 7th and Wisconsin, who was ranked 21st. Also, some of Purdue’s biggest games are against teams that have high rankings. Duke, ranked number 5, plays Purdue on December 2nd, and number 20th, Davidson on December 20th.

The Purdue Boilermakers start their exhibition season off tomorrow, October 31, Halloween night against Florida Southern at 9 p.m. in Mackey Arena. Their first regular season game is against Detroit Mercy on November 14th at 9 p.m.

I liked this post because it was about the Purdue basketball team and how high they are ranked. We have been a young team for the last couple of years and now that we are older and more experienced we should have a really good team this year. Nice!
