Purdue Basketball

October 31st is a day that I'm really looking forward to, and not because it's halloween, but because it's the start of Purdue basketball. This season really has a lot of people excited, especially after such a crappy football season. The fans here at Purdue really can have something to look forward to, because this team is really looking like they are gonna be a force to reckon with this season.

Recently the men's basketball team was ranked tenth in an ESPN/USA Today, which was voted on by 31 different coaches. Thats a good confidence booster for the team, they are expected to do well this season by many people and some people actually think that they can win the conference so that is something to shoot for this season.

This Friday the Boilermakers have an exhibition game against Florida Southern. In my opinion I don't see it being a big turnout, just because it's Halloween and its Florida State, which shouldn't be much competition. The game that everyone is anticipating this season is the Purdue vs. Duke game. That game is on December 2nd and will have hundreds of fans coming to fill the stands at Mackey Arena. So if you don't have your tickets yet I would get them as soon as possible, because those things are gonna sell out fast.

There are a couple of players that people are going to have their eyes on this season, sophmores, Robbie Hummel and E'Twuan Moore really have high expectations set for them. Both of them were named preseason first team All Big Ten. Hummel was also named preseason player of the year. The team has a bunch of good players and they can do great things this season, as long as they do what there supposed to do and don't choke like the football team did this year they should be good.
