The Purdue’s Women’s soccer team is back on the winning streak after last games loss to Washington. Today they played Colorado College and defeated them 2-1. Alex Jenkins, a freshman forward, led the team with three shots, with two shots on goal. She scored one of the two goals this game. The second half was a tough one, literally because the Boilermakers were charged with 13 fouls just during the second half, which made the game total of 17 fouls. Colorado College scored their first and only goal towards the end of the game. Purdue stayed strong and did not let Colorado College score one more on them.
It was also Go Green Day at the soccer complex, and all the players wore “green” uniforms. The uniforms were then auctioned off during the game, and they raised a total of $1,180. This money will go towards Purdue's Celery Bog Initiative and the World Wildlife Fund. The girls soccer team will be in action again Friday on the road against Big Ten’s Northwestern. Then on Sunday at Wisconsin.
