Last night was a real upset for the then number two team in the country. The Texas Tech Red Raiders had a real wake up call last night when they played the number five team Oklahoma Sooners. The Red Raiders lost their first game of the season, well actually let me rephrase that, because lost is an understatement. The Red Raiders got destroyed last night by the Sooners, who played an extremely good game on both sides of the field.
I'll Start off by talking about the Oklahoma Offense. Quarter back Sam Bradford had an impressive game, completing 14 of 19 passes and throwing for a total of 304 yards and 4 touchdowns. What really impressed me was the Oklahoma rushing game. Demarco Murray had a total of 125 rushing yards along with two touchdowns. He also did very well at wide receiver with four receptions and 71 yards. I love watching this guy play, he just has that style that keeps the fans attention and makes you want to see his next move.
Now onto the Oklahoma defense, they played a great game last night. The defense did things to the Texas Tech offense that made the team look like a pee wee football league. They held the nations leading receiver Michael Crabtree from scoring any points in last nights game. Until then Crabtree who leads the nation in touchdown catches with 18 was kept away from the endzone, breaking a 13 game scoring streak. That's a great accomplishment for the Oklahoma defense. They also held the Red Raiders scoreless in the first quarter, which was the first time that has been done all season. They kept the Red Raiders scoreless on five straight possessions. The Oklahoma defense just broke down the Texas Tech offense. The next couple of weeks are really going to be of importance to see who has a shot at the national title.
